Civic Society Springs and Wells
Dear Well Warden
Meet the Well Wardens - When we last contacted the Well Wardens in May we indicated that we were organising a social gathering of Well Wardens to exchange ideas and learn more about the Springs and Wells of the
Malvern Hills. Please make a note in your diaries that on the evening 11 February 2005 the Civic Society is having a 'Meet the Well Wardens' evening. This will include a presentation on the Springs and Wells and all the Well Wardens are most welcome. It will be held in Malvern and further details will be announced in due course. In the meantime diarise the date and let me know if you would like to give a five-minute presentation about your amusing experiences as a Well Warden.
Civic Society Restructuring - You may also hear over the next few days that the Civic Society has decided to terminate the existing incorporation of the Malvern Spa Association (that's not us - its the other organisation which we have also severed our involvement with). This will not affect the Well Warden Scheme other than provide an opportunity for extending the activities of the Well Wardens within the Civic Society. The Well Wardens will continue to support activities of the MSA in promoting the conservation and protection of our Springs and Wells heritage. Fortunately I am a member of both bodies and this makes cooperation much easier.
Please let me have any interesting observations or comments about your Spring or Well for the next Civic Society newsletter, which will continue to be circulated to Well Wardens free of charge.
Best wishes, Bruce Osborne
